Valborg
Yesterday we celibrated spring all over Sweden. Valborg. It is an old tradition to get together and make a bonfire last of april. It used to be a way to scare dangerous witches away and the bonfire is often accompanied with fireworks, also something to scare evil with I guess. Someone gives a speech to the spring and students sings about the glory of the youth, I don’t know exactly what that is supposed to scare away but it has became a part of Valborg.
I took the girls and somethings to eat with me and went to one of the bonfires nearby. We arrived a bit early so I got the chance to draw the wood placed on a raft in the canal. There were tons of people there and we had a good time. After the singing, some people came canoeing with torches and put the wood on fire.
